Whichever glass you fancy
One of the rare times I get to build something for myself. "Whiskey Scar" originated as a slab on a rack that I just had to have. The bark inclusion "scar" brought along with it so much unique figure and color variation it simply had to be a decorative top.
To stabilize a check in the wood and highlight the lighter tones of the slab, two ash bowties were inlayed in.
The flowing variety of woodgrain in the top dictated a smooth design for the pedestal base. Walnut was hand selected with blemishes to mirror the black tones of the top bark inclusion.
Almost...planetary.
God's nature never ceases to amaze.

Steel table legs
Commissioned by family so we could gather, "Gather and Grain" serves as a bold statement piece and focal point of the space. Featuring a stoic presentation of beautiful wood grain, this dining table anchors the room with its sturdy base comprised of metal legs and an ash trestle beam.
To help frame in the highlighted walnut grain, a perimeter of ash was inlayed to help blend the top to the trestle of contrasting color.
To reinforce the mitered corners and add a final aesthetic detail, ash plugs were added to the table corners.
The trestle beam was built using a plywood frame and faced with solid ash to evoke the appearance of a solid 4x4 beam while minimizing cost.
